HP Recommended
Product: HP envy5544

I have a HP envy 5544 printer which is giving problems,the screen says there’s a carriage jam but on checking there is no pieces of paper and carriage is completely clear.I went through the various steps recommended by HP but the screen still says “carriage problem”,the one thing I have noticed different is although the ink cartridges can travel freely by hand to both sides of the carriage when the printer powers up the ink cartridges don’t return and stop at the end of the right hand side of the carriage but rather about six inches from the end.the screen won’t allow me to do anything else so I’m hoping someone here may have ideas,many thanks.
