Hi @TipDavid,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already gone through the standard troubleshooting steps for a paper jam on your HP 5660 series printer and the issue persists, there might be a few additional things you can try.
- Check for small shreds of paper: Sometimes, even tiny pieces of paper can get stuck in the printer's mechanism and cause a jam. Use a flashlight to thoroughly inspect the paper path and remove any remaining shreds of paper.
- Reset the printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it's still turned on. Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear any temporary errors.
- Update firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with paper handling. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or via the HP website.
- Try a different paper tray: If your printer has multiple paper trays, try loading paper into a different tray to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, a particular tray or paper source may be causing the problem.
- Inspect the print carriage: Carefully open the printer cover and inspect the print carriage area. Make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects blocking the carriage's movement.
By going through these additional steps, you may be able to resolve the persistent paper jam issue with your HP 5660 series printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
