Hi @Artim1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error codes E3 and E4 on your HP Inkjet 3636 All-in-One printer typically indicate issues related to paper jams or cartridge problems. Here's how you can troubleshoot these errors:

E3 Error (Paper Jam):

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
  • Carefully remove any jammed paper, being sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions to avoid damaging the printer.

Clear Paper Path:

  • Ensure there are no small pieces of torn paper or debris stuck in the paper path.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the paper path thoroughly.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing again to see if the E3 error has been resolved.

E4 Error (Cartridge Problem):

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed in the printer.
  • Remove the cartridges and then reinsert them, making sure they click into place securely.

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are compatible with your HP Inkjet 3636 printer model.
  • Check the cartridges' packaging or consult the printer manual for compatibility information.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges.
  • Also, clean the contacts inside the cartridge slots in the printer.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and try printing again.

Replace Cartridges (If Necessary):

  • If the cartridges are old or damaged, consider replacing them with new, genuine HP cartridges.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Sometimes, performing a hard reset can help resolve cartridge-related issues.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing again to see if the E4 error has been resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
