HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

HP 9015 with ADF Jam message and have cleaned, reset power, restored to factory settings and nothing works.  Seldom use printer or fax leaning to Cannon scanner and let this collect dust for a few prints once in a while.  Any ideas?

Hi @SB20241

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with the ADF jam message on your HP 9015, especially after trying various troubleshooting steps. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check for Obstructions

  • Open the ADF Cover: Carefully open the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and check for any paper or debris that might be blocking the mechanism.
  • Inspect the Feed Rollers: Look for any dirt or residue on the rollers that could cause slipping. If necessary, clean them gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Turn Off the Printer: Unplug it from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug It Back In: Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.

3. Use Different Paper

  • Sometimes, the type or quality of paper can cause jams. Try using a different paper type or brand, ensuring it's appropriate for your printer.

4. Check Paper Size and Alignment

  • Ensure that the paper loaded in the ADF is within the supported size range and is properly aligned in the tray.

5. Inspect the ADF Mechanism

  • Look for any bent or misaligned parts within the ADF. Sometimes, the mechanism can get misaligned, which can cause jams.

6. Run Printer Self-Test

  • If your printer allows, run a self-test or diagnostic page from the printer's control panel to check if the ADF works correctly outside of a print job.

7. Update Firmware

  • Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. This can sometimes resolve ongoing issues. You can usually do this through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the response.  I have been through all items suggested twice and message still remains.  Printer works, and can scan from glass just ADF is not functioning.  I have used nothing but HP for 30 years in office and home setting but may have to try something different as last two models had poor quality relative to historical HP printers.
