My HP printer quit printing on envelopes once loaded properly. The feed slot accepts the envelope once inserted into the proper slot, but prints out on standard 8 X 11 paper instead of the properly loaded envelope. No error messages occur. Both the PC and printer are on shared WiFi that have been configured properly.

- If you have not installed this software package "HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw/M281cdw Printer Full Software Solution", then this software must be installed first!

Installation instructions
Note: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted by the installer. If you are connecting to a network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer - in the User Guide
Reader page 33 = "Load and print envelopes page 21", here you will find very important information on the topic: Envelope
- Paper type: select Automatic to let the printer select the paper type.
- Paper size: Select A4 or 8.5 x 11 plain paper.
This setting is specified by MS Word, for example, for a printout.
Print a single envelope in Microsoft Word for Windows
Note: MS Word offers various templates for printing envelopes.
Paper handling must also be taken into observation, see specification.
The template in MS Word must match the size of the envelope in Tray 1.

Hello:
I have the exact same problem.
After successfully installing the suggested software package, a blank window opens with no information. After waiting for some time for something to load in the window, I exited out by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner, only to receive a pop-up message that says "Are you sure you want to close this window? If you exit, you can complete your setup later by saving this link." There is a blue Copy link to clipboard link.
Then under the above it says "Clink continue to continue setup or close. Under that there are two options, "Close" and "Continue". If continue is chosen, the completely blank window opens again and never populates with anything.
Is there a bug in this "updated" print software? Why can't this printer print envelopes?
As the original poster stated: This is extremely frustrating!
