Hi @Gracie_5-,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Installing roller wheels in a printer can sometimes be tricky, but with the right approach, you can do it correctly. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you re-install the roller wheels into your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer.

  • Turn off the printer: Before starting any maintenance work, make sure your printer is powered off to avoid any accidents or injuries.
  • Open the printer access door: The roller wheels are usually accessible from the printer's back or front when you open the access door. Refer to your printer's manual to locate the specific access door for the rollers.
  • Remove the old roller wheels: If you're replacing old roller wheels, gently slide them out from their slots. Note their orientation and position for later reference when installing the new ones.
  • Inspect the new roller wheels: Check the new roller wheels for any packaging material or protective covers. Remove them if present.
  • Identify the correct orientation: Make sure you have the correct replacement roller wheels for your printer model. Pay attention to any notches or grooves that match the original configuration.
  • Align the roller wheels: Carefully insert the new roller wheels into their respective slots. Ensure they are securely seated and aligned correctly. They should slide in smoothly without excessive force. If you encounter resistance, double-check their orientation.
  • Test the roller wheels: After installing the roller wheels, gently rotate them by hand to ensure they move freely and smoothly. If they feel stuck or misaligned, take them out and re-install them.
  • Close the printer access door: Once you've confirmed that the roller wheels are correctly installed, close the printer access door.
  • Turn on the printer: Power on the printer and wait for it to initialize. It may perform a self-test, which is normal after any major component installation.
  • Test the printer: Load some paper into the input tray and print a test page to ensure that the roller wheels are functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
