Hi @WJM5107,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with loading paper into your HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 MFP and the paper guides appear to be narrowed or locked, you may want to try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Check for Jammed Paper:
- Make sure there is no jammed paper in the paper path. Open all the access doors and trays to inspect for any stuck paper. If you find any, gently remove it.
Reset Paper Settings:
- Check the paper settings on the printer control panel or in the printer software on your computer. Make sure the paper size and type settings match the paper loaded in the trays.
Adjust Paper Guides:
- Look for any adjustable paper guides or sliders in the paper tray. Adjust them to match the width and length of the paper you are using. These guides help in aligning the paper properly.
Inspect Paper Tray:
- Remove the paper from the tray and inspect the tray for any obstructions. Sometimes, foreign objects or debris can hinder the paper guides from moving freely.
Check for Damage:
- Inspect the paper guides for any signs of damage. If they are damaged or misaligned, it may be causing the narrowing issue.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve minor issues.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve overall performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
