@GopalH, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your MFP M130fw!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To remove a rear paper jam in your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fw, follow these steps:

Turn off the Printer

  1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord and wait for at least 30 seconds to let the printer cool down.

Open the Rear Access Door

  1. Locate the rear access door at the back of the printer.
  2. Press the release tabs on both sides and gently open the door.

Remove the Jammed Paper

  1. Carefully pull out any stuck paper.
    • Avoid tearing the paper. Pull it out slowly and straight.
    • If the paper tears, remove all fragments to prevent future jams.
  2. Check the rollers for any small pieces of paper or debris.

Close the Rear Door

  1. Once cleared, firmly close the rear access door until it clicks into place.

Restart the Printer

  1. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
  2. Print a test page to ensure proper functionality.

Note:

  • If the issue persists, check for paper jams in the input tray, output bin, and toner cartridge area.
  • Use clean, dry paper to avoid jams.
  • Avoid overloading the paper tray.

This printer model does not have a rear door. Both side panels and rear metal panel had to be unscrewed to access the paper jam. However, a tiny piece of paper got stuck between the black and red paper rollers. In trying to remove this piece of paper, I may have damaged the red paper roller and very tiny flakes of red paper got torn off during clearing jammed paper piece. I fixed the paper jam but now I am getting tiny ink smudges while printing. Any solution on how to replace the red paper roller or is there a simpler fix? Thanks.

@GopalH, Thanks for the update!

Now that the paper jam is cleared but there are ink smudges, it’s likely due to the damaged red paper roller.

Here are a few possible fixes:

Clean the Rollers and Printing Path

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the rollers.
  • Remove any tiny paper debris or dust that might be causing smudging.
  • Let everything dry before turning the printer back on.

Perform a Cleaning Cycle

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to SetupServiceCleaning Page.
  • Print a cleaning page to see if it removes excess toner or paper dust from the rollers.

Check the Toner Cartridge

  • Remove the toner and check for any excess toner leakage.
  • Try replacing the cartridge if smudging continues.

Let me know how it goes.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
