I have an HP Officejet Pro 8625 All-In-One Printer. The document feeder tries to deed a sheet of paper through 3 times and then quits. Do I need to replace the document feeder?

Hi @COMPUTATOR,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's possible that there may be an issue with the document feeder on your HP Officejet Pro 8625. Before considering a replacement, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to see if you can resolve the problem.
- Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions, such as small pieces of paper or debris, in the document feeder. Even a tiny piece of paper can cause feeding issues.
- Inspect Rollers: Examine the rollers inside the document feeder for any signs of wear or damage. Clean them with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol if they appear dirty.
- Adjust Paper Guides: Ensure that the paper guides in the document feeder are correctly adjusted to fit the size of the paper you are using. Misaligned guides can cause feeding problems.
- Paper Quality: Use high-quality paper and ensure it is not damaged, wrinkled, or too slippery. The paper type and condition can affect the feeding process.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Check for firmware and driver updates for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, software updates can resolve performance issues.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Power it on and see if the issue persists.
- Test with Different Paper: Try using a different type or brand of paper to see if the problem persists. Some printers may be more sensitive to certain paper types.
If you've tried these steps and the issue still persists, there may be a mechanical problem with the document feeder.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
