Hi @manju36,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the "door open" error on your HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One Printer usually indicates that one of the printer's doors or covers is not securely closed. Here’s how you can troubleshoot this issue:

Steps to resolve the "Door Open" error:

Check all doors and covers:

  • Front access door: Ensure the front door, where you load ink, is fully closed.
  • Top lid/Scanner lid: Make sure the top cover, which lifts for scanning and copying, is properly shut.
  • Ink tank door: Check that the cover for the ink tanks is closed.

Reopen and close each door:

  • Open the doors or covers listed above, then close them firmly until they click into place.

Power cycle the printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for paper jams or obstructions:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams or any debris blocking the doors from closing fully.

Update printer firmware (if applicable):  Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • If possible, check for any available firmware updates using the HP Smart app.

Reset the printer:

  • Perform a full reset by unplugging the printer, waiting for about 2-3 minutes, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
