Hi @oaktree239
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If your HP ENVY Inspire 7920e printer is showing a "photo tray is blocked" error, even though it’s brand new and on a level surface, here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Photo Tray Alignment:
- Make sure the photo tray is properly inserted and aligned. Pull it out completely and reinsert it to ensure it’s seated correctly.
2. Remove and Inspect the Photo Tray:
- Remove the photo tray and check for any obstructions or foreign objects that may be blocking it.
- Inspect the tray and the area where it slides in for any debris.
3. Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer's sensors.
4. Check Paper and Guides:
- Ensure that the photo paper is loaded correctly in the tray and that the paper guides are snug against the paper without bending it.
5. Update Printer Firmware:
- Check the HP website for any firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes bugs can cause false error messages, which may be fixed in updates.click here
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
