Do you get the same crinkle from both the manual feed tray and the paper tray? If yes I would look at the paper path under the cartridge closely. I have seem some previous issues with similar models where the metal bar near the transfer roller (black foam roller mounted in the bottom of the cartridge cavity) become dislodged and interrupted the paper path. If it only happens from the paper tray. check the slot that the paper travels through from the tray to the interior of the printer closely. Even a small bit of paper can cause big issues when feeding.
