HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer

I have not used this printer that much - occasionally- at home, not for work. The manual says last resort is to “clean”. How do I do that? What do I clean? Bought in 12/20

Hi @71521,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you are facing a paper jam error.

Follow the below suggestions -

Automatically clear the jam

Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jam.

On the printer control panel, press the Cancel button to automatically clear the paper jam.

Clear jammed paper from the printer

Paper jams can occur in multiple areas of the printer. If you cannot find the paper jam in one area, continue to the next area until the jam is located.

  • Clear jammed paper from the ink cartridge access area
  • Clear jammed paper from the input tray and cleanout area
  • Clear jammed paper from the document feeder (6400 models only)

Remove any jammed paper from the document feeder.

Lift the document feeder cover.

Example of lifting the document feeder cover

Pull the jammed paper out of the rollers.

CAUTION:

If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the printer. If you do not remove all pieces of paper from the printer, more paper jams are likely to occur.

Press down on the document feeder cover until it snaps into place.

Press the Cancel button on the control panel to clear the error.

Reset the printer

  • Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

For instructions, refer to -E4 (Paper jam) error
