HP LaserJet 6L
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

* Error light (topmost of the 3) always on

* printer not recognising paper entry

* 99% certain is paper sensor (hardware) error

* * nothing on Youtube or Google featuring paper sensor replacement (or purchase of sensor)

* all troubleshooting solutions in manual having no effect ( i.e. door securely shut; no paper jam; paper present; toner cartridge completely installed)

* waste to dump a machine that prints ok when paper is recognised

* totally fed up !!!  -  would appreciate help

Top light always on can actually indicate one of three possible issues:

Paper out as you have discussed

Cartridge door open or no cartridge installed

Paper jam

Repairtrooper, thanks for your reply.

If possible please refer me to

  • a picture of PS202 (standalone? /embedded in another part?)
  • website where I can by one

Before stripping the machine I prefer to know

  1. what I’m looking for
  2. where I can buy the necessary part if need be.
