This printer has been a workhorse for years. A stellar HP product. Recently, it's started to jam on tray paper pick up. Paper gets chewed in on the left side as it goes up. Is this a roller issue, or something else?
The pickup roller (I think that's what it is)  on the left side is clean and appears to have good grip when I feel it. still quite ribbed on the sides I can see.
I'm pretty handy, and I'd like to keep it going.

TIA

If the paper feeds at an angle or appears to stop on one side that may be due to something stuck in the printer path. You can try flossing the paper path by using still card stock to floss the paper path. Manually push the card stock through in the normal direction of paper travel, never backwards. Sometimes it helps to use a narrower piece of paper and feed it through several times.
