Product: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

I've changed the settings for non-standard sized paper, but there is NO DOCUMENTATION for where to load this paper for printing. I've made two attempts. One via letter 'tray,' leading to printing that is off alignment. The other in the typical letter paper tray, but then the printer feeds but does not print. These are for greeting cards. All help documentation focuses on software instead of the entire hardware/software process. This is incredibly frustrating with this issue going on unresolved for days.
