My M283fdw fuser unit is causing a severe crease when printing.
I have tried to look and clean it as best as possible but can't seem to remove the fuser unit to give it a good clean and check for the cause. The crease is just off centre. Can anyone offer any support please?

@Roseyjnr2, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
1. Power Off and Cool Down
Turn off the printer and unplug it.
Let it cool for at least 30 minutes. The fuser gets extremely hot during operation.
2. Access the Fuser Area
Open the rear access door.
Locate the fuser assembly—it’s typically the unit with two rollers visible.
3. Look for Obstructions or Paper Residue
With a flashlight, check for bits of torn paper, label residue, or even wrinkled rollers.
4. Cleaning
Use a lint-free cloth to wipe down accessible rollers.
Avoid using sharp tools or abrasive cleaners.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for thst but I have opened the back door and can't get in to the fuser unit to look. I can push back the guides at the top and bottom and really struggle to get anything else in there. I just cant get into the fuser unit to see properly. All support videos I've found online show the whole of the print being taken apart tk access anything. Do I need to do a totally strip of the machine? I know some modules of printer the fuser unit has blue handles to pop it out.

Hey @Roseyjnr2,
Thank you for your response
"I recommend against opening or disassembling the printer yourself. It's best to take the unit to the nearest HP authorized service center for proper assistance.
They can provide one-on-one help to fix the problem.
Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
