I have a M477fnw that keeps reporting a paper jam in the rear. I open it up and check everything and there is never a paper jam. I close the rear door and the printer will be able to print a few documents and then say there's a jam again.

Any ideas how to diagnose and fix?

We have had issues on this series with the optical sensor in the fuser failing and causing jams because the printer does not detect that the paper has left the fuser assembly. HP does not offer the sensor by itself, only as part of the fuser assembly. We are lucky in that we harvest sensors from other products. The sensor in question is on the back of the fuser unit
