M479fdw Tray 1 will not stay closed - Little t or x plastic piece found in the paper try below.
My top paper tray stays secured to the front toner cartridge panel right up until it latches. THen the door falls open again. I know the cause it this little plastic part has fallen from it's home Can't figure out where the heck it should be. Thank you for the help everyone.

In each corner of the front door are plastic locking mechanisms that are spring actuated. From what I can see, your part came from one of these areas. If the part is loose, the spring may have fallen out too. it usually means something has broken. Part is not available. You would have to replace the front door assembly, Front door assembly RM2-1824-000CN .
