M501 DN
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

M501 DN Printer not pulling from tray 1 automatically. I have the paper source under preferences set to "printer auto select" so seems it should pull from tray 1 automatically if there is a check or labels there? Only way I can get it to pull from tray 1 is by pulling tray 2 out or changing the preferences to Tray 1 or manual under paper source. Have had lots of HP laser printers in the past along with many other brands of laser printers & never had one that would not pull from tray 1 if something was in there?

On the M501 printer control panel, set Tray 1 to "Any Size" and "Any Type" settings.  Set cassette tray settings to match installed paper.  This should allow auto feeding from Tray 1.  leave desktop setting to Auto select.
