Product: HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 Printer M602dn

An HP LaserJet 600 M602 has the display reading "Load Tray 3: Plain, Letter", however, tray 3 is filled. When closing the printer, the tray does not raise.

I also cannot seem to get the printer to print a Supplies Status Page, even though tray 2 is also loaded.

 

I have it set to print from requested tray first. I am able to queue a supplies status page, but it will not progress to printing.  Please let me know if there are any additional details that are relevant. Thank you.

Found the solution. Replaced the toner cartridge. For some reason, that worked.

Power off.  Remove printer from optional tray feeder.  Remove duplex unit.  Power on.  Upgrade firmware.  Power off. Reassemble and test.  Lifter motor could be defective.
