Hi @BANTY4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing paper jams and feed issues with your HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problems:

1. Check for Paper Jams

Open All Paper Trays:

  • Open the input tray and the output tray to check for any paper jams or obstructions.

Remove Jammed Paper:

  • Gently remove any jammed paper from the paper path. Be careful not to tear the paper, as small pieces left inside can cause further jams.

Check the Fuser Area:

  • Open the printer’s front door or any other access points as indicated in the manual.
  • Inspect the fuser area for any jammed paper. Remove any paper carefully.

Check the Paper Path:

  • Follow the paper path from the input tray to the output tray to ensure there are no obstructions or pieces of paper stuck in the rollers.

2. Address Paper Feed Issues

Check Paper Tray:

  • Ensure the paper is properly loaded in the tray. Align the paper guides to the paper size to prevent skewing.

Use Correct Paper Type:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Dust and debris on the paper feed rollers can cause paper feed issues. Clean the rollers with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water. Let the rollers dry completely before using the printer again.

Check for Paper Type Settings:

  • Ensure the paper type setting in the printer’s menu matches the type of paper loaded in the tray.

3. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

Update Firmware:

  • Go to the HP Support website and check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Follow the instructions to download and install the update.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website as well.

4. Printer Settings and Calibration

Perform Printer Calibration:

  • Access the printer’s control panel and navigate to the calibration settings. Perform a calibration to ensure the printer is properly aligned and functioning.

Check for Maintenance Alerts:

  • The printer might have maintenance alerts or prompts for cleaning. Follow any prompts on the printer’s display.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
