Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP officeJetPro8710 used to print on heavy paper but now it gets jammed. I have the setting on "heavy paper". For the first year it was able to handle the card stock. Now it is either getting jammed or it slips and only half the page gets printed.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Product series introduced in 2016

The printer might be dirty - that is, in need of cleaning and maintenance.

Known solutions, presented in the order to be completed / considered:

Paper Jam Error

Assuming the printer has been in service for a number of years, it is possible the rollers are simply showing signs of wear.

If that is the case, the "fix it" options might not produce the expected results.

What else?

Paper might be too damp, too dry, curled, or outside of the weight specifications (not supported).

The settings might not be correctly or fully adjusted for the current job.

For example:

  • Printer might not be aware of the paper size & type of paper loaded in the paper tray - Tray and Paper Management
  • Printing Preferences might be set on other than the correct Shortcut and options you need for the current job
