Hi @VickiHB,
I'd like to help!
Try the below steps to resolve the error -
Step 1: Clear any jammed paper from the printer
Step 2: Make sure the carriage can move freely
Step 3: Use automated tools to clean page smears
Step 4: Manually clean the paper feed rollers
Step 5: Reset the printer
For instructions, refer to - 'Paper Jam' Error
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 _ so frustrating that is says "original is jammed in document feeder" I have used a flashlight and searched for even the smallest piece of paper.....there is NOTHING!!! I've unplugged and plugged to reset as suggested, I've cleaned rollers, I've removed and reinstalled the ink cartridge carriage, I've removed paper tray and fanned paper & replaced....I have done everything & trust me, I've solved many a paper jam problem, so I'm not new to the process. This one hasn't even been used that much at home - Just now replacing the original black cartridge, but of course it is out of warranty! At this point I'm thinking I just wasted $100 for the black ink - only to have an expensive paper weight!

Hi @SuzeQ21,
If you have already performed the steps from the documentADF does not pick paper or feeds in too many sheets and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Hope this helps!
