When I am printing, the printer will start to print about an inch and then spit it out. Then spit out a blank page. Then it tries again, prints 1 inch, etc. It is wasting so much paper.  I have the HP Envy 5660.

Hi @mdsleight,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 I'd like to help!

I understand the printer prints one inch on the page and then spits out a blank page.

To assist better-

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

3)What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

    The Setup menu displays.

  3. Touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
