C4680

The printer model is C4680. It feeds and prints well, but recently just before it starts printing there is a rapid series of very loud clicks like a machine gun for a couple of seconds and then it prints. What does this indicate? Can it be fixed? If so, how?

@2LCP, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This is a pretty old printer. It could be the paper pick rollers or the print carriage that could be the reason for the loud noise.

Perform the steps mentioned in this document. Clean the rollers and reset the printer.

Check for any jams inside the printer or any obstructions/damages.

If the issue persists, I'm afraid there are no other steps to resolve this issue. As the printer is printing fine, you may just ignore the noise. If it is non-manageable, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
