Hi @Excaptizzy89,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP Officejet Pro 9015 is displaying a paper jam message but there is no visible paper jam, here are some steps to clear the message and resolve the issue:
1. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and then to the back of the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
2. Check for Paper Fragments
Even if you don’t see a jam, small paper fragments can trigger a false paper jam error. Check all possible jam locations:
- Input and Output Trays: Remove any paper from the input and output trays.
- Inside the Printer:
- Open the front cover and check for any small pieces of paper.
- Remove the ink cartridges and inspect the area around the cartridge slot.
- Open the rear access door or duplexer and check for any obstructions.
- Automatic Document Feeder (ADF):
- Lift the ADF cover and check for any paper fragments or obstructions.
3. Clean the Rollers
Dirty or misaligned rollers can sometimes cause paper jam errors.
- Turn off the Printer: Disconnect the power cord.
- Access the Rollers:
- Open the rear access door or duplexer.
- Locate the paper feed rollers.
- Clean the Rollers:
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
- Rotate the rollers to ensure the entire surface is cleaned.
- Reconnect and Test:
- Close the rear access door or duplexer.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Try printing a test page.
4. Check for Obstructions in the Paper Path
Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the paper path.
- Open all accessible covers and doors.
- Look for and remove any debris or foreign objects that might be obstructing the paper path.
- Close all covers and doors securely.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Excaptizzy89,
Please find the next steps below.
5. Perform a Printer Maintenance Routine
Use the printer’s built-in maintenance tools to check and fix any issues.
- From the Printer Control Panel:
- Go to Setup or Settings.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Select Clean Paper Path or a similar option to run the maintenance routine.
6. Update the Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can sometimes cause false error messages.
- Check for Firmware Updates:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model (HP Officejet Pro 9015) and check for firmware updates.
- Install Updates:
- Follow the instructions to download and install any available firmware updates.
7. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn Off the Printer: While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait: Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn On: Turn the printer back on.
