My new printer HP 2801e all-in-one does not take the paper for printing, the page goes half way, stops and the "jam page" blinks. I know it's not jammed because a message says "wrong paper size", but it's not, it's the right one on the printer setup and on my software (A4)...
I tried to use the copy mode and It worked (no "jamming!!) but the copy outs in small size... Tried to fix it with the assistant but nothing worked... help?

@BGguy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Resolving Paper Errors on HP 2801e All-in-One Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP 2801e all-in-one printer is experiencing paper errors, such as stopping partway through the page with a "jammed" message followed by "wrong paper size," here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:
Confirm Paper Size Settings:
- Double-check that the paper size settings in your printer software match the paper size loaded in the printer. Ensure that both the printer setup and your software are set to A4.
- On the printer display, navigate to settings and confirm the paper size is correctly set to A4.
Try a Different Paper Type or Batch:
- Ensure you're using a new, fresh batch of A4 paper of good quality. Sometimes, inconsistencies in the paper can cause feeding issues.
Check for Obstructions and Clean the Rollers:
- Open the printer and inspect for any debris or small pieces of paper that could be causing the issue.
- Clean the paper feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to ensure proper grip on the paper.
Reset Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and try again. Sometimes a reset can resolve unexpected errors.
Update Printer Firmware and Drivers:
- Make sure your printer firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit HP's support page and download the latest updates for your HP 2801e printer.
Adjust Printer Preferences:
- Access the printer preferences via your computer's control panel or printer software. Ensure that all settings, such as paper size and type, match those of the loaded paper.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
