Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I recently discovered a black U-shaped clip in the paper feeder of my printer.  I lifted the lid of the feeder a could not locate where the clip would have been installed, but since discovering the clip have noticed the printer is incapable of scanning documents via the feeder.  I am guessing the clip somehow aided the printer in deciphering the document size.  The clip appears to have a nub at each corner, one of which is broken off.  One leg of the "U" is longer than the other.  The clip features an "H2" marking on it.

 

I need assistance with locating a replacement clip in addition to locating where this part was installed.
