HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 aio paper drawer is stuck part way open. Opened drawer to add paper, and now can't close it and can't remove it.
There seems to be a catch on one side, but can't see what it is.
Paper size is set at letter with proper paper width.
Otherwise it's been working fine.

@JjD03, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a Stuck Paper Tray on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer's main paper tray is stuck open and cannot be closed or removed, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Power Down and Disconnect:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
Inspect for Obstructions:
- Carefully inspect the paper tray area for any obstructions or debris.
- Remove any visible fragments of paper or other materials that might be causing the blockage.
Remove the Tray:
- Gently push and wiggle the tray to see if it will slide out with light force.
- If the tray seems caught, look for any catches or levers that might be holding it in place.
Check the Paper Size Settings:
- Ensure that the paper size setting is correctly configured for the type of paper in the tray (in this case, letter size).
- Sometimes incorrect paper size settings can cause issues with the tray mechanism.
Reinsert the Tray:
- After inspecting and clearing any possible obstructions, try to reinsert the tray by aligning it correctly and sliding it back into place.
Restart the Printer:
- After reconnecting the power cord and turning the printer back on, check if the tray can be opened and closed normally.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
