I own two different Officejet 250 portable printers which at one time have both experienced a complete carriage jam where I'm unable to even move the ink cartridges for removal. I purchased the 2nd printer when the failure happened to the first and when it happened to the second one I spent around $150 for out of warranty repair service on the first one which I have been using no problem for a couple years. Now I have a new issue with that printers where the LCD display screen is not working properly 75% of the time. I am still able to connect to the printer via wifi direct however I am unable to copy or scan without a working display screen.
My only option seems to be to spend somewhere around another $150 with the same local authorized service provider who fixed the one I'm currently using to repair the second unit which is currently needing service to fix the stuck carriage before I can even think about worrying about the errors with the display unit on the original printer I'm using now.
Someone had asked about the same carriage jam issue in an older thread after trying all the steps HP lists to fix the problem and was basically told they would be given a private message with the information as it could not be put out there on a public forum. I'm very technically savvy and would very much prefer to be able to fix my other printer myself without spending another $150+ especially since now that I'm driving a vehicle with built in wifi that only operates on a band these printers cannot access I'm kinda hoping that at some point HP will replace the Officejet 250 with a newer model with support for the 5ghz band which I would happily invest my hard earned money in.
