HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer

Have a HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One-Printer and the automatic feeder has been broken for a while.  We've managed to still use it by pushing it down to 'close' it, but now it is not cooperating at all.  Once the feeder is in error,  I can't use the printer at all to copy or print.

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the feeder?

Not possible, if you disconnect it you will still have a different error without it.

Thank you.  It is a shame we can't.

Based on your description, I am wondering if you could fool the lid closed sensor so that it thinks it is closed all the time. usually on the side of the ADF lid close to the back there is a tab the interacts with an optical sensor in the base of the ADF. If that tab is broken off it might not be blocking the sensor properly. You can try blocking the sensor with a piece of paper.
