Hi @HOWARD551,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One printer is not releasing paper from the roller to print, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check Paper Alignment and Load: Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray and not loaded too tightly. Ensure that the paper guides are adjusted correctly to prevent misalignment.
- Paper Quality: Ensure that you are using good quality, standard-sized paper that is not too thick, too thin, or wrinkled. Low-quality or damaged paper can cause feeding issues.
- Clean Rollers: Dust, debris, or paper fragments might be obstructing the rollers' movement. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the access door to the paper path and carefully clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Allow the rollers to dry before closing the access door and powering on the printer.
- Reset Printer: Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve minor issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if you can't see any paper jams, there could be a small piece of paper stuck inside the printer. Carefully check all access points and paper path for any obstructions.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website and download the latest software for your printer model.
- Adjust Paper Settings: Check the paper settings on your computer or device. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size and type in the print settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
