Product: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

I added a 550-sheet Feeder Tray CF404A to my Color Laser Jet M479fdw - a Tray 3.

It's mostly worked fine for over a year, though occasionally the printer wouldn't recognize it was there, not sure why.

Suddenly, it's making a repetive clunking sound, before timing out, and the printer reports that the paper lift is stuck and it can't load paper. 

I tried pulling the paper tray (Tray 3) out, but it won't release or move at all. 

I lifted the printer off the top of it - which revealed that the paper tray bottom was in the raised position and there was  folded piece of paper jammed at the top. I was able to remove the folded piece of paper. 

However, I still can't pull out the paper loading tray, even if I tilt the entire feeder on its side, either one, as suggested in some posts. 

Any ideas on how to unjam it?
And how/what to adjust or repair?
