Paper Jam/Feeding Issue

HP Recommended
HP Office Jet 3830

Every time I want to print something, even if it’s just one page, the printer keeps feeding paper through after the printing has been complete. It keeps feeding paper without printing anything until one page stops halfway through and then it says it has a paper jam. I take the paper out, make sure there isn’t anything stuck inside, reload the paper and it will do the same thing.

Can anybody please help me with this? I’ve spent a long time trying to fix this issue and it won’t go away. I’ve followed some advice on here with paper jamming issues by unplugging the printer from the back and from the source of power itself and restarting it, but it hasn’t  helped. I hope there’s another solution other than buying a new printer. 😞

MY problem is exactly as EmilyH24 describes it below. I have cleaned every thing and followed the suggestions I read on this web page. NO LUCK. I am ready to throw away a printer that was really good and  still looks in perfect condition. It is a shame .

Hi @EmilyH24,

I'd like to help!

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
