Paper Jam that Cannot be Resolved
04-03-2021 05:29 PM - edited 04-03-2021 06:04 PM

Approximately at 2:30pm PDT my printer received an update. Once the update was finished being installed an error message appeared out of the blue stating there is paper jammed. I clicked on the "movie" which indicated the jam was located in the ADF.
There is no paper jammed in that location. Or any other location.
I have subsequently spent nearly 2 hours going through EVERY suggested process to fix the problem and here I sit writing about a non-existent paper jam.
BTW it worked fine about an hour prior to the update. Coincidence? Anyone have any ideas? Bueller? Bueller?

@AA3RR, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you have a false paper jam error on the printer.
Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Paper Jam Error
Check if the print carriage is moving freely. Refer to 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays
Now, try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue. If the printer makes a copy, the hardware is fine.
If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
