HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

This morning my 2 year old M255dw had a firmware upgrade. After that, it successfully printed 1 page of a 2 page pdf, followed by a paper jam. Tried reprinting different documents with same results - sheets feed only part way.

Now  the printer keeps repeatedly reinitializing every couple minutes. Keeps reporting "79 SERVICE ERROR turn off and then on." Went through same sequence after rebooting with negative results.

I've disconnected the power and the ethernet cable for 60+ seconds and rebooted without success. Also tried printing from another iMac and PC but sheets won't feed more than partway.

Contacted HP phone support and was connected to a third party service provider who wanted $400-500 so I hung up.

Help!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
