Paper Tray 2 will not lift when placing into printer

Can you manually raise the paper when the tray is not inserted? Have you observed the tray not lifting or are you having a feeding issue? Most common problem on this engine design is a worn or dirty pickup roller. If you fill the tray full will it pull a few pages before you start having problems? Do you hear the pickup mechanism rotate several times just to feed one page?

Thanks for responding. I can lift tray manually but it does not lift on its own when in printer. It grabs 1 page and jams.

I have a similar issue.  Paper will not feed past the pickup roller, using either Tray 1 or Tray 2.  Paper fed from Tray 1 get's blocked by the pickup roller and doubles back into tray 2.  I hear the three cycles of the pickup mechanism rotating and lifting when paper is fed via Tray 2.

This was a sudden failure, so I am guessing that the roller itself is not worn or dirty; rather is perhaps not turning at all.  Is there a way to verify that the roller is turning?   I haven't found the magic combination to spoof that Tray 2 is in place while feeding via Tray 1 while viewing roller in action 🙂
