Paper in paper tray but asking me to load paper in photo tray. I don't want to print photo's

The printer is asking me to load paper.  I have letter paper in the tray and am trying to print a document.  The printer displays message to 'Load Photo Paper, 5X7 in paper in the tray'.  I'm printing a document, not photos.  Please help!

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

The printer might not be aware of the paper size / type loaded in the printer tray.

Open the printer tray - wait a few seconds...

Close the tray - check the printer control panel for a message about the paper size /type

If the paper size is not the paper you are using,

Select to Edit the paper size / type - correct the size / type - Click to accept the changes and exit

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Click Apply to save changes

Main menu options selected

More Settings > Shortcut selected "General Everyday Printing"

Select / verify / edit the other settings > Click OK to save the settings and return to the main print menu

When ready, Click Print

Open document in Reader DC

Click the print icon...

Adjust the settings on the main menu

Click Properties to select the Shortcut and add the paper size

Close the Properties menu and return to the main print menu

Click OK to save the changes and exit the Properties menu

In Page Sizing and Handling > Select the Print Size (Fit, Actual, Custom, Poster...)

Adjust other settings as appropriate.

On the main print menu, when ready, click Print
