Hi @Shadyfoot,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're dealing with a tricky paper jam situation. Here are a few steps you can try to clear it:
- Turn Off the Printer: First, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to ensure safety.
- Open the Rear Door: Locate and open the rear access door. This is usually found at the back of the printer. You might need to remove any paper trays to get to this door.
- Gently Remove the Paper: If the paper is visible and partially accessible, try to gently pull it out. Be careful not to tear the paper, as small pieces can cause further jams.
- Check for Obstructions: Look inside the printer for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be causing the jam. Remove anything you find.
- Reposition the Printer: If the paper jam is in a spot that’s hard to reach, you might need to reposition the printer or remove the paper tray to get better access.
- Close All Doors and Trays: Once you’ve removed the paper and checked for debris, close all the printer doors and trays securely.
- Plug in and Turn On: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. It should go through its startup sequence and reset any error messages related to the paper jam.
- Run a Test Print: Try printing a test page to ensure the issue has been resolved and the printer is functioning correctly.
