Hi @EAJ369,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is reporting a paper jam but there is no visible jammed paper, and the ink cartridges are also not moving, it could indicate a more serious issue with the printer's hardware or internal components. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this problem:
Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Step 2: Check for Obstructions
- Open all access doors and panels on the printer to visually inspect the paper path and internal components.
- Look for any obstructions such as torn paper, debris, or foreign objects. If found, carefully remove them.
Step 3: Manually Move the Carriage
- Ensure the printer is powered off.
- Gently move the ink cartridge carriage by hand to see if it moves freely along the carriage path.
- If the carriage does not move freely, there may be a mechanical issue that requires professional repair.
Step 4: Reset the Printer
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Step 5: Check Ink Cartridge Installation
- Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and securely seated.
- Remove and reseat each ink cartridge to ensure they are properly aligned.
Step 6: Clean Paper Rollers and Carriage Path
- Clean the Paper Rollers:
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the paper rollers.
- Roll the rollers with your fingers to clean them thoroughly.
- Clean the Carriage Path:
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the carriage path where the ink cartridges move along.
- Remove any dirt or debris that may be obstructing the path.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
