My printer will not take card into the feed. Does anyone know if it is the printer that is not geared up to anything other than 80gm paper?

Whether the printer supports the paper depends on the paper size, paper type, and weight of the paper.

The full driver printer software should be installed.

Troubleshooting guide here:

The printer supports paper types as shown in the Specifications

Paper Handling

and

Media Size (facet)Letter; A4; Legal; B5
Media Sizes Custom (imperial)3 x 5 to 8.5 x 14 in
Media TypesPlain paper, photo paper, brochure paper, envelopes and other specialty inkjet papers
Media Weight Recommended (imperial)20lb
Media Weight Recommended (metric)75 g/m²
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (Imperial)Letter: 16 to 32 lb; HP envelopes: 20 to 24 lb; HP cards: up to 110 lb; HP 4 x 6 inch photo paper: up to 145 lb
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (metric)A4: 60 to 90 g/m²; HP envelopes: 75 to 90 g/m²; HP cards: up to 200 g/m²; HP 10 x 15 cm photo paper: up to 300 g/m²

If not done,

Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

The full driver printer software provides access to the printer features.

Load the paper using the instructions in the  User Guide

If the paper size and weight are supported,

If the "type" you need is not listed in Printing Preferences / Properties,

Consider:  Select paper type "Brochure" (as available), Index card, thick, or other paper that is not "plain paper"

Reminder

Do not try to trick the printer into taking heavier card paper by selecting media type "photo paper".

Doing so does not usually work.

General example,

Full driver printer software installed,

Word > Single side "card" 3x5 inch

Reminder:  Your printer might - or might not - support the paper size / types shown in the example
