Hi @Kay2809,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 3762 printer continues to experience paper jams at the front rollers near the ink carriage, even after following the HP YouTube recommendations, it may indicate a more specific or persistent issue. Here are some detailed troubleshooting steps to help resolve this problem:

Step 1: Turn Off and Unplug the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source to ensure safety while performing the troubleshooting steps.

Step 2: Check for Obstructions and Debris

  1. Open the Front Cover:
    • Open the front cover and inspect the paper path for any visible obstructions, such as small pieces of paper, debris, or foreign objects.
  2. Check the Rollers:
    • Look at the front rollers and check if there are any visible bits of paper or other debris stuck in them. If you find any, carefully remove it.

Step 3: Clean the Rollers

  1. Clean the Paper Rollers:
    • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
    • Gently clean the rollers by rotating them manually. Ensure that you remove any dirt, dust, or paper residue.
    • Allow the rollers to dry completely before attempting to print again.

Step 4: Inspect the Paper Path

  1. Open the Rear Access Door (if available):
    • Some printers have a rear access door or panel that can be opened to inspect and clear paper jams.
    • Check the paper path and rollers in the rear of the printer for any obstructions or misaligned paper.

Step 5: Check and Adjust the Paper Settings

  1. Ensure Proper Paper Loading:
    • Ensure that you are loading the paper correctly in the input tray. The paper should be aligned properly and not overloaded.
    • Adjust the paper width guides so they fit snugly against the paper without bending it.
  2. Use the Correct Paper Type:
    • Verify that you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Poor quality or unsuitable paper can cause jams.

Step 6: Perform a Printer Reset

  1. Reset the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 7: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP support website, search for your printer model, and download and install any available firmware updates.

Step 8: Run a Printer Diagnostic

  1. Printer Self-Test:
    • Many printers have a built-in diagnostic tool to check for hardware issues. Refer to your printer’s manual to run a diagnostic test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
