Hi @Waltonhall ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7920e All-in-One Printer is having trouble with handling the 7 x 5 inch (127 x 178 mm) paper in the photo paper drawer. This could be due to how the paper is being loaded or an issue with the drawer itself.
Here's what you can try to resolve it:
Steps to ensure proper paper loading:
- Check the Paper Guides: Make sure the paper width and length guides inside the photo paper tray are adjusted to snugly hold the 7 x 5 inch paper. The guides may not be aligned correctly, causing the paper to get stuck.
- Ensure the Paper Fits the Tray: Verify that the paper you're using is indeed 127 mm (7 inches) wide and 178 mm (5 inches) tall. Slight variations in paper size could cause it to jam.
- Avoid Overloading the Tray: Place only a few sheets (usually 10-20) of 7 x 5 paper in the photo tray at a time, as overloading it can cause jamming.
- Fan the Paper: Before loading the paper, fan the edges slightly to avoid multiple sheets sticking together and causing jams.
- Align the Paper: Ensure the paper is inserted straight and not at an angle.
- Check for obstructions: Make sure there's no debris or leftover paper from previous jams in the tray.
- Printer Settings: Double-check your printer settings to ensure the printer is set to the correct paper size. This can be done either via the printer's control panel or through the HP Smart app on your computer.
