Paper tray stuck out after a paper top up

If the tray is sticking out an inch or two then likely you have accidently switched the tray to legal mode. There is a blue button inside the front of the tray that you push to move the tray back to letter mode.  Check the details on loading paper in the user guide here http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06291141.pdf

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I cannot get my paper tray to go back into the space that was provided for it, It will only go in a half inch and then jams in the space??????
