HP Photosmart all in one eStation C510. Edror message out of paper. However, there is paper. When I pulled out tray, there were two pieces of black plastic on top. How do I access the paper feed mechanism?

Are you getting an exclamation mark on the paper display?  Follow the directions in this video to clean the feed rollers.  It will work for pretty much any model where you can access the rollers.  Basically, I  dampened  a q-tip and wiped each roller horizontally, then kept turning the printer on and off to rotate and repeat until the rollers were completely clean. I used about 3 q-tips in total.  Worked like a charm.
