Recently I purchased an HP Deskjet printer all-in-one Series 4729 and it was working all good. For the last one week, the printer is not picking " Photo paper " but it does pick normal paper and prints the photos. I tried resetting the printer but of no help and also looked into HP online help documents but it did not help me either so thought to post this issue here in the hope any solution.

1. Photo paper is not picking. It makes the noise as if the paper will be fed but then the " out of paper "message/blinking comes.

2.Normal paper is picked up perfectly and prints photo/text without any issue.

3.If I scan any document then the photo paper is also picked up and prints.

@Abhimanyu2, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • Have you tried using a different photo paper?
  • Does the photo paper meet the paper-handling specifications of the printer?

Refer to the document An 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper to resolve any pick-up issues. Also, check the Printer Specifications for HP DeskJet 3630, 4720 Printers to learn about supported paper types and sizes.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
