HP ENVY 5661 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer suddenly began to make a noise when it was getting ready to print which I discovered was the printer tray being slammed forward as if it wanted to take photo paper to print on even though it was set to letter size. The error message said the Photo Tray was blocked and that I should adjust the tray. The tray was not blocked and there was not a paper block. Reading through the online suggestions I find that this is a common problem on several machines. People do all the simple things suggested t fix it without any solution. The last thing in the list is a suggestion of  a total reset as a possible cure for the problem. It does seem to be some sort of a software clitch adn that a total rebook of the machine would potentially help. Apparently there is a code to reset the machine  this comes from a private message and then it says it was now working. Can anyone help me with this. It is a home computer which is not used a lot and does a good job. I can still scan with it but it goes into the Photo Tray loop every time I try to print.

@EdlinSteve, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print due to this issue.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - 'Photo Tray Problem' Error

Performing a reset on the printer may not help as this is a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
