HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear,

My Photosmart 6310e,  B211,  has problems picking up paper from the tray.

Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol has no result anymore. In other words, I think the rollers or possibly a whole assembly will have to be replaced.

After a long search I have not been able to find information such as part number(s), drawing exploded view, photo, description and experiences.

I can't imagine that I would be the only one with this problem.

Can anyone help me further? Any addition is highly appreciated.

Arthur Cerew.

Hi @arthurcerew

When dealing with paper pickup issues on your HP Photosmart 6310e B211, it is often the result of worn-out rollers, and in some cases, the entire paper feed assembly may need attention. Here are some steps and information that might help you:

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check for Obstructions:

    • Ensure there are no small pieces of paper or debris inside the printer that might be causing this issue.
  2. Re-clean the Rollers:

    • While you mentioned cleaning them with isopropyl alcohol, ensure they are thoroughly clean and dry. Sometimes switching to a rubber rejuvenating product might temporarily improve their grip.
  3. Manual Paper Feed:

    • Try feeding a single sheet manually through the tray to ensure it’s not a paper type or size issue.

Replacement Parts

Identifying the exact part number can be tricky without documentation. However, here are some tips:

  1. Printer Manual:

    • Check the printer’s user or service manual, which might include part numbers or contacts for obtaining replacements.
  2. HP PartSurfer:

    • Visit the HP PartSurfer website to find parts by entering your printer’s model number. This might give you specific part numbers and options for ordering.
  3. Third-Party Suppliers:

    • Many third-party suppliers offer parts for common maintenance issues in older printers. Websites like eBay or Amazon might have listings for rollers and maintenance kits.
