HP Inkjet Pro 6978
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I moved a few months ago.  I setup my printer and got it up and running.  However, I don't use it much since the move.  I have been having problems with it telling me to check for paper jams.  I haven't had the time to resolve it until today.  It still gives me the jam check initially, says that I'm not putting it down properly which isn't true and now gives me the printer failure message with the above code.  A video I watched suggested that it might have something to do with my ink cartridges so I looked at them on the system but they don't appear to be reading.  The printer says I need to replace my black cartridge but in some places non of the cartridges are reading on the system.  It is out of warranty so I thought I would check here to see if anyone can give me some direction before I go shopping AGAIN.

@Cee_Cee14, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

A 0x error indicates a hardware issue in the printer. Let us try these steps:

Check for any paper jams in the printer and make sure the printer carriage is moving freely. Re-insert the ink cartridges.

Refer to the steps mentioned in this document - Paper Jam Error

For more info on resolving a 0x error, refer to - '0xc19a0005' or Similar Error Code Displays

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
